Consulting, in Allen’s sense

See the whole pattern. Find the useful next move.

The value lies in the quality of attention brought to a situation and the clarity of the next useful move.

Allen works with private individuals, companies and institutions when a question does not fit neatly within a single discipline. Depending on the enquiry, the work may include conversation, movement or bodywork, meditation, biographical or astrological analysis, research and practical observation.

The method is agreed in advance and shaped around the question. This is not conventional coaching, diagnosis or therapy.

Four working lenses

One person. Several kinds of literacy.

01

The body

Physiotherapy, massage, osteopathic study, martial arts and yoga give Allen a practical language for movement across a lifetime — for structure, sensation, adaptation and change.

02

Learning

Ten years teaching physical education to children from six to eighteen in a Waldorf school sharpened the difference between delivering information and helping another person discover capacity.

03

Attention

Personal security taught him to read rooms, routes, timing and behaviour before a situation becomes dramatic. Prevention is the deeper skill.

04

The long view

History, religion, rare books, archives and material culture place an immediate problem inside a larger human pattern while keeping the next step concrete.

The person behind the range

Serious work, held with curiosity and humour.

Allen’s breadth can look improbable on a curriculum vitae. In person it is held together by curiosity, close observation and a taste for the unexpected connection.

He has taught children, appraised rare books, made groundwater maps, worked with bodies, studied lineages and stood quietly in rooms where attention mattered. That range helps him notice routes into a problem that a narrower view may miss.

Individual & institutional work

Different settings. The same quality of attention.

Each engagement begins with the setting, the people involved and the question that matters there.

01

Individual

Private inquiry

For a specific movement question, a changing body, a period of transition or an established personal practice that needs more than a generic programme.

02

Organisations

Companies & institutions

For teams and organisations facing questions of attention, communication, physical culture, security or change that do not fit neatly inside conventional consultancy.

03

Practice

Movement, meditation & learning

For private clients, schools, teachers and practitioners. The work may use movement exercises, bodywork, meditation or practical observation to make a question tangible.

04

Research

History, culture & private analysis

For questions involving biography, astrology, archives, oral history or embodied traditions. Sources and methods are named rather than blended into a single explanation.

05

Selective

Personal security

Situational awareness and protective work for public figures, institutions and security professionals. Prevention, preparation and reading the setting come before physical response.

Discuss an individual or institutional enquiry

Private online lesson · direct booking

One hour with Allen. One question, properly attended to.

Sixty minutes, one-to-one on Zoom, at a fixed price shown and paid when you book.

The work can focus on a movement practice, martial form, meditation, recovery or another defined question that needs more individual attention than a group class can provide. Book one session first; further meetings can be arranged if useful.

This is a teaching session. Broader personal, institutional or multidisciplinary work begins as a consulting enquiry.

Thirty years of protective attention

Security begins long before anyone raises a hand.

Bodyguarding, when done well, is mostly invisible: preparation, orientation, routes, timing, temperament and a calm, attentive presence.

Allen’s protective work has included spiritual teachers, writers, artists, political figures and public personalities. The names below are already part of the public record; discretion remains more important than a client list.

Allen’s own account and a 2007 profile place him at the airport for the Dalai Lama’s 1995 visit and again at the aircraft in 1998. By the 1998 Emory visit, contemporary university reporting describes an official U.S. State Department detail.
